Winter of starvation, 1947. In Austria desertion from the Wehrmacht is always a crime even after the ~fare. The cook, the farmer, the altar boy, and the head pig keeper bestow insight into the military terror they were subjected to and their reasons in quest of fleeing. The documentary-style film is a montage of the positive fates of young deserters and shows persuading moments of traumatic memories and the sociable ostracism experienced after the war.
